When starting at Sierra-Olympia it was known as Sierra-Olympic. The company builds and helps to integrate thermal camera components into custom projects and product lines. It was my job to run and maintain all digital marketing material including the website. Over time my duties grew to include social media, analytics tracking, and graphic design. When it came time to change the name I oversaw the rebranding of the company and became the Marketing Director.

The Rebrand
In cooperation with the United States Olympic Committee(USOC), Sierra-Olympic changed it’s name to Sierra-Olympia. This change aligned with the Ted Stevens US Olympic and Paralympic Act (36 USC CH 2205), which grants exclusive use of the word “Olympic” to the USOC. It was my job to create the new brand and style-guide around a selected logo. After creating the brand it was applied to all marketing material and also many internal documents across different departments.
Style-Guide Pages

Launching a website for an organization that is switching domains requires careful planning. A site map was laid out that allowed us to redirect every product or page URL to its relevant new URL. After the site map was finished content was created for each page before we created the design. It is my belief that content should drive design, not the other way around. Consideration was put into key words and the companies solutions for the highest ranking search results possible. The site was built with accessibility and best development practices in mind. When the newly branded domain and website for Sierra-Olympia was launched, it had surpassed the performance of it’s predecessor on the old domain within three months.
